Ms Wong's garden - Air Plants

Tillandsia are also called "Air Plants" because they get most of the nutrients from the atmosphere.
There are about 650 species of air plants on this planet... Many look so similar to each other that I don't know which is which.😡😡 Anyway, whatever the species are, the most important is. it's an Air Plant and a Tillandsia😜😜😜 If you are interested to know in details about each plant, Mr Google is willing to help you anytime 24hrs 7πŸ˜‚. I have had a few guesses myself on some of the Air Plants below. Tell me how many right answers I have and let me know, ok ?
?? Tillandsia Lonantha about $15.90 online
The most popular because of the combination of 2 varieties

??Usneoides Moss  - Old Mans Beard $4.90 online

??Tillandsia Stricta & Recurvifolia, a hybrid known as "Cotton Candy".
It has spiky. long, thin, silvery leaves.
When the flower bloom, it looks like pink cotton candy

?? Tillandsia Circinata - thick long green leaves like the aloe vera although the base is only 1 inch diameter.
? Xerographica "Queen of the Air Plants" with its amazing bloom spikes.
A hardy plant and the easiest to care for- tolerate bright light and last longer without water, compare to others
?Tillandsia bulbosa- Alien looking plant with a look alike tentacles of a squid.
According to a blogger , the plants and ants had a mutual understanding for each other.
The bulbs of the plants are hollow, a perfect home for the ants and in return, the plant feeds off the waste, the ants left behind.
? Tillandsia Fuchsii Var. Gracilis about $20 online.
A delicate plant that grow only  5-6 inches tall.

??Tillandsia Stricta " Pink Bronze"
A typical pineapple rosette looking leaves

??Tillandsia gardneri.
A large size Air Plant from 9-12 inches tall.
A great choice for shaded, warm and humid area.
A forgiving plant but still needs lots of moisture to thrive.
It blooms pink flowers that last a while.

Care of Air Plants

I read this from hemieva.com:
If anyone receives an Air Plant for the first time, soak the plant in water for 15 mins.
Then allow to dry, in upside down position. Give a gentle shake to ensure water is not trapped between the leaves.
Once dry, reposition and place in a selected area such as hanging under a tree like my friend did. Spray or soak Air Plant according to weather. At least soaked for 30 minutes once a week or after a period of neglect.
They must always be air dried after soaking, before returning  them back to their homes.
Air Plants don't need soil but they need good circulation and indirect sunlight.
They make lovely outdoor and indoor plants decor.

Air Plants hanging all over the unused trellis

Brilliant idea of Ms Wong who uses this little tree, as a hanging place for all her "Air Plants".
It was a pleasure to have visited, took photos and allowed to write about Ms Wong's lovely garden.πŸ‘
